Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes your cleaning service special?

A: We're glad you asked! We have green service providers that clean for residential properties and small offices. We can also train your current house keeper how to clean with eco green products.  We also offer domestic staffing and will help find, interview and  place your personal full time house keeper, nanny or specialty chef skilled in preparing vegetarian, vegan and living / raw food cuisine.

Earth Friendly is an environmentally friendly company all-around! Your housekeeper will strictly use non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning products. We do everything we can in our office and in your home to minimize waste and help you make the transition to keeping eco-green.

Our company only works with experienced, professional independent housekeepers who are members of our Alliance and who love to do the best job possible. All housekeepers are screened to ensure they are legally authorized to work in the United States, and have passed thorough background and reference checks.

Q: Should I tip my housekeeper?

A: Gratuity is accepted and appreciated, but never expected. We ask that gratuity be left as cash for your housekeeper(s) - we cannot accept it included in checks or credit card payments. For those who choose to tip, common tips amounts sometimes are $10, $15, $20, $30, and $40 usually based upon if your house keeper stayed to clean past your scheduled cleaning appointment time

Q: What is done on each visit?

A: Every client's needs are different, so your housekeeper will work from your cleaning wish list, not from a predetermined checklist. This way, you get exactly what you are looking for!

Q: Do the housekeepers bring their own supplies?

A: Your housekeeper can provide all green products and supplies necessary, as most clients prefer. However, if you would prefer to provide products or supplies, by all means let your housekeeper know! Most housekeepers are happy to accommodate. However, the exception is if you request they use a highly toxic product, bleach or harsh ammonia based cleaners, the housekeeper will likely decline.  We can provide a list of recommended eco green products.

Q: How far ahead of time should I call to schedule?

A: When you have a particular day in mind, it's best to call around two to three weeks in advance. Typically, Thursdays and Fridays always book up first, so when you have your heart set on one of these two days, the sooner you book with Earth Friendly, the better! Of course, we will do our best to accommodate when we can.

Q: Can I have the same housekeeper on a regular basis?

A: This is the beauty of Earth Friendly's referral agency - you can develop a mutually beneficial working relationship with your housekeeper. If they are not available for any reason, our office will notify you to reschedule or arrange for a substitute housekeeper to fill in. Please let Earth Friendly know when calling to schedule a follow up service if you would like to request the same housekeeper as your previous visits. However, we do have a company policy that excuses our house keepers if they are too ill to work and we will ask you for a reschedule or if we can send a back up house keeper to clean for you the same day.

Q: How many hours of service do I need?

A: Depending on your list of priorities (the list that you create) and on the square footage of your home, your local office can assist you in determining the amount of time to schedule.

**Hint: It is best to schedule more time and have your charges pro-rated than to not schedule enough time to get the full list you created completed.

Q: How often and when is service available?

A: Earth Friendly refers housekeepers Monday through Friday 7am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday, between the hours of 8am-6pm. Some special circumstances may allow for different times for servicing homes.

Usually clients enjoy their home cleaned twice a month. However, having services weekly or monthly is not uncommon. We are here to provide you with more free time and a clean home, so you determine how often we come to your home.

Q: What happens if I am not satisfied with the service?

A: Earth Friendly's Staff and independent professional housekeepers take pride in the work that they perform. If you are not pleased with your service, please call our 1.877.723.1723 or better yet text customer service immediately at 323.237.0599 and we will see when we can have your housekeeper return to fix it. Please note that We do not offer 100% guarantees at this time so it is best to do a final walk through with your housekeeper before they leave or book for extra service the first visit so that your house keeper has enough time. Remember your housekeeper is only human and will need extra time to clean if your home is very dirty.

Q: In regards to the housekeeper, what does Earth Friendly do?

A: All housekeepers undergo thorough background and reference checks and are trained and certified in eco green cleaning. We have a contractual agreement with each house keeper to uphold the high standards of Earth Friendly Maid Service, LLC and for being part of our Earth Friendly Alliance  we provide eco green house cleaning training, office support they need such as appointment scheduling, marketing, payment processing, phone service, and customer service support. To foster a long term relationship with our team, we pay a year bonus to every house keeper who has worked at least part time on average 3 days each week for 1 year and 1 month.

Q: Who is responsible for Breakage?

A: Your housekeeper being an independent contractor is personally responsible for any damages as a result of their actions so will likely take great care in your home. However, accidents can happen so we highly recommend that you put away anything irreplaceable, fragile, antique, and have an insurance policy for apartment or home and a policy that offers temporary worker's compensation coverage.  Allstate insurance provides such coverage. Earth Friendly Maid Service, LLC house keepers are independent contractors. We have found that having independent contractors  clean is a win win situation as most experienced house keepers already have their own insurance and bonding and therefore, we can pay a much higher hourly rate/ or percentage of the service fee which has allowed us to recruit highly skilled house keepers who have done this type of work for 10+ years.
